Had a good week last week - didn't spend quite so much time on new member prospecting so that has slowed down a little although I am hoping to ramp that back up this week and next. Finished the week in Aberdeen on business and hopefully found a couple of new members to add to the site there.
I'm also hard at work on putting together a range of free/discounted/unique to Localventure business services that will increasingly become a valuable addition to being a member/advertiser on this site. This will not, I repeat, will not affect your ability as businesses to advertise here for free. The idea will be that some services are either free or offer reduced pricing on things you have to buy (e.g. our discount on book keeping services from RS Book Keeping) plus I'm also looking at unique products and services to feature here, such as an employee assistance program (which normally isn't available to businesses with fewer than 50 employees). I'll update as things move forwards.
Lastly you'll see in the posts below that I've rotated some of our older advertisers back to the top of the blog, this includes : SS Bookkeeping and Accountancy; Lisa's Handmade Jewellery; Bethany Leah Makeup; Netcom Technologies; Express Solutions IT; Ashlea Associates; Born Ready Design; Designer Nails 2 Go and Lakes Leaflets.
I think that it is important that given the nature of the blogging format of website (that posts drop down over time as new ones are added) that I try and give members the opportunity to appear at or near the top of the blog as often as is possible. As an example, at the moment all members who joined up to the 8th of March have been rotated back to the top at least once. I check this about once a week and tend to do a couple of batches of members following the check.
